As the title clearly says, this is "The Alter Ego" of http://www.livejournal.com/users/gopakumar_ce/. Why did I make this blog ? I find that a blog is a really good and effective way of discussing things. Whenever I pick up some news from slashdot or lwn or kerneltrap or by googling for some idea on which I want more info, I end up reading a few articles on that topic and trying to find out more about it.
But my curiosity usually ends there :-). I mean the moment I understand what the stuff is all about, I am satisfied and do not pursue it further (a very similar trait which I and my borther both share :-). So what I thought is that it would be a good idea to jot down details about what I read, where I got the article from, what I understood about it when I read it etc.. in some place so that I can refer to it in future when needed and also whoever else wants to read my thots on it can do so an give their comments. I dont find anything better than a blog to serve this purpose ! Also, this will prompt me to read more so that I can have the self satisfaction of seeing my "knowlegde list" growing bigger :-).
Also, I am too lazy to read in-depth and give the final touches to whatever I read and try and publish it as some article somwhere :), so thats why this blog idea of "collection of thoughts" is more appealing.
So far, the only "respectable" booklet I have co-authored is the Linux 0.01 Kernel Commentary which can be found at http://wiki.kernelnewbies.org/wiki/KernelSafari. Also you will find some nice techy stuff in my brother's link http://pramode.net/.
